Consists of some of the personal papers of Howard and Mary Quinn. Materials include memorabilia relating to the University of Texas at El Paso (then known as the Texas College of Mines and Metallurgy); pamphlets decrying Naziism in Europe; correspondence between Senator Lyndon Baines Johnson and Dr. Howard Quinn concerning custom duties on mineral samples; photographs of Professor Howard Quinn's geology class taken while out on a field trip to a mine; the January 1954 issue of "True" magazine containing a story about Charlie Steen, a UTEP geology graduate who reportedly made $150 million by his discovery of uranium near Moab, Utah; and copies of a bulletin published by the Central Council of Social Agencies titled "The Password."

He was the first child of Sam Ealy Johnson, Jr., and Rebekah Baines Johnson, and had three sisters and a brother: Rebekah, Josefa, Sam Houston, and Lucia.
